Our History

The first service of Faith Baptist Mission was held on December 5, 1980, in a rented storefront building at 422 Lexington Street in Versailles, Kentucky under the authority of Grace Baptist Church in Georgetown, Kentucky.

God richly blessed the mission and on July 10, 1981, the mission was organized into a New Testament Baptist Church with 28 charter members. At this time, the church called Bro. Bobby Lakes to become their first pastor.

The church later purchased five acres of ground in Woodford County and built a new building at 3692 Huntertown Road and moved into that building in November of 1985. On March 17, 1991, the church voted to build a new sanctuary that would seat 295 people. By God’s marvelous grace we were able to hold our first service in the new building in November of 1991. In December of 1991, we dedicated the building with service and Bro. Ross Range and Bro. Al Gormley were the guest speakers.

On December 4, 2010, Bro. Bobby Lakes retired after serving the Lord at Faith Baptist Church for 30 years. The Lord blessed his ministry and the church was thankful for his service.

On February 6, 2011, the church called Bro. Joe Collins from West Virginia to be the pastor.
